Today at Enrich we finished of our Kowhaiwhai patterns. A Kowhaiwhai pattern is a Maori type of art. A Kowhaiwhai pattern has to be symmetrical. In a Kowhaiwhai pattern there is only three colours black red and white. To start I had to use a French curve to sketch out the pattern. Then I went over it really hard and then we sat it on a board and did it hard again and it showed up on the board then we painted it and finally I went around it in vivid. I had a great time learning how to make a Kowhaiwhai pattern. Darryn gave me a lot of good advice.
My name is Jack. I come to Enrich every Thursday. I am a year 6. Enrich is a special school especially for gifted kids. The four cornerstones of Enrich are Mental Edge Affective Domain Concept Curriculum Talent Development/Passion Time

Sketch up
Today for canstruction we started the blueprint for the Highlanders on Sketch up. It was very frustrating to make the cans where they were meant to be which was in a straight line 24 cans across and 16 cans up. Once I had done that I had to paint it the right colors.

Stone carving
Today in passion time I worked on my carving again and it is really starting to look like a dinosaurs head. I also did a pick about the solar flares and I learnt that the sun spot that makes these flares is 12 times bigger than the whole Earth!!

Lying
Today at Enrich we did P4c it was all about lying. We decided that there is no way to justify lying. You also can not lie to yourself. Now I know lying is not necessary. One of the 6 questions was if you would steal a cookie before tea and your mom comes home in a foul mood would you tell her the truth? Or lie and say you hadn't eaten a cookie? I would tell the truth!
